В любое время, когда sendmailR не удается выполнить проверку подлинности, появляется не очень полезное сообщение,

Error in if (code == lcode) { : argument is of length zero

Это может быть по многим причинам, в том числе по причинам сервера. В моем случае мне нужно было поместить свой IP-адрес в белый список серверов. @alko989 заявляет о проблеме с использованием sendemailR, что authentication... is not supported by sendmailR, а с публикации по адресу sendmailR https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/sendmailR/sendmailR. pdf, единственными параметрами управления являются smtpServer, smtpPort & verbose, поэтому ничто для пользователя, пароля, ssl, tls и т.д. Почтовые серверы сегодня, как правило, намного безопаснее почтовых серверов прошлого, так что серьезное ограничение sendmailR,
