Он должен работать так, и он работает для меня. Проблема может быть в вашем редакторе IDE/xml. Попробуйте игнорировать xml-ошибку и запустить приложение.

Это не влияет на время выполнения, но среда разработки будет страдать с аналогичными проблемами, которые вы описываете.
