Получить родительский вид из макета

У меня есть FragmentActivity с этим расположением:

и класс ScrollerLinearLayout выглядит примерно так:

Как получить доступ из ScrollerLinearLayout к родительскому макету, чтобы получить - например, - editetxt? FragmentActivity и ScrollerLineraLayout находятся в разных пакетах тех же проектов. Я попытался использовать функцию getParent() таким образом в ScrollerLinearLayout, но он не работает.

RelativeLayout r = (RelativeLayout) this.getParent().getParent();
int w = r.findViewById(R.id.editText1).getLayoutParams().width;
